Columbia International University awards semester hour credit, so you will receive 1 semester hour of credit for each semester hour of the course you transfer. However, Fuller Theological Seminary awards credit on a quarter hour basis, which will require a conversion from quarter hours to semester hours in order to transfer to Wheaton. The standard policy for transferring quarter hours to semester hours is that every quarter credit receives 2/3 semester credit, i.e., 3 quarter hours becomes 2 semester hours. Fractional credit is never given, and all fractions are simply dropped. For example, one 4 quarter hour course, which is equivalent to 2.67 semester hours, transfers in as only 2 semester hours.
Thus, the only way to transfer in whole numbers when all courses are 4 quarter hours of credit is to transfer in a block of courses at the same time. For example, if you transfer in 12 quarter hours of the approved classes as a block, you will receive 8 semester hours of credit. NOTE: if you individually transfer 3 classes of 4 quarter hours credit, you will receive only 6 semester hours of credit (2 semester hours for each course as noted above). Whenever you transfer quarter hours that do not have a whole number conversion to semester hours, you will lose some of the value. The chart shows the amount of credit actually granted for the transfer.
