Will my classification change?
You will remain an undergraduate student until you earn your bachelor's degree.
When can I register for graduate courses?
After you're admitted to the Accelerated MA program and complete ninety undergraduate credit hours.
How many grad credits can I take as an undergraduate?
Up to sixteen grad credit hours in total. The most you can take per semester is eight grad credit hours.
Can my grad credits apply toward my bachelor's?
No. Accelerated MA graduate courses cannot be counted toward your bachelor's degree.
Will I change advisors?
You'll have two advisors. You'll keep your undergraduate advisor and be assigned a graduate advisor.
Are there any scholarships for Accelerated MA students?
You will be eligible for graduate financial aid once you graduate with your bachelor's and continue as a full-time MA student. The typical aid package includes the Wheaton Grant (need-based). There are also specific endowed scholarships (merit-based or eligibility-based). You can learn more at Types of Financial Aid.
I trust this information will help you get started on your journey toward earning a Master of Arts degree. If you have any further questions about the Accelerated MA program, feel free to stop by the Graduate Admissions Office (BGC 258) and speak with an admissions counselor.
Sincerely,
