FAQ
Last, you might have some of these common questions in mind.
Will my classification change?
- No. You retain undergraduate status until your bachelor's degree is earned.
When can I register for graduate courses (after I'm admitted to the Accelerated MA)?
- As soon as you complete 90 undergraduate credit hours.
How many grad credits can I take as an undergraduate?
- Up to 8 credit hours per semester (maximum 16 hours while an undergrad).
Can my grad credits apply toward my bachelor's?
- No. Accelerated MA graduate courses cannot be counted toward your bachelor's degree.
Will I change advisers?
- No, but you will gain one. You will keep your undergraduate adviser and be assigned a graduate adviser.
Are there any scholarships for Accelerated MA students?
- No, but you will be eligible for graduate financial aid once you graduate with your BA and continue on as a full-time MA student. The typical aid package includes a Wheaton grant that is considered need based aid and specific endowed scholarships that are based on academic merit or fulfilling an eligibility requirement. You can learn more at Types of Financial Aid.
