Jonathan Hoglund

After completing the MA in Biblical Exegesis at Wheaton, my wife Andrea and I moved to Kremenchuk, Ukraine, where we serve as missionaries with SEND International.  I teach at Kremenchuk Bible College, where I participate in training pastors and church ministers for central Ukraine.  Besides teaching courses in Biblical Studies, I also coordinate SEND’s ministry to nine other Bible Colleges around Ukraine.  We have two children, Joy and Isaiah.

Through language learning, cultural adjustment, and understanding the new church context in which we live, God has taught us that arriving at a contextually sensitive interpretation of the Scriptures is a task that requires patience and faith.  Despite these challenges, it is a priceless blessing to watch as students understand a truth more deeply, apply it to their own context, and express it in the proper way for their culture.
