Psychology Programs: PsyD and MA

PsyD candidates can apply for both the PsyD and the MA in Clinical Psychology with one application. Simply (a) check the box to be considered for the MA if not admitted to the PsyD and (b) submit an additional essay.

Accelerated MA Recommendation

For current Wheaton undergraduates only.

You can reapply using this form and previously submitted application materials. Please use this form if you either (a) deferred your admission, (b) canceled your admission, (c) were on a wait list, (d) did not complete your application, or (e) were refused admission.

Re-enrollment Application

Please use this form if you were previously enrolled as a degree-seeking student at Wheaton College Graduate School and withdrew or stopped attending for one or more semesters.

Take Courses for Credit Without Being in a Program

Students who wish to take one or more classes for graduate credit without being enrolled in a graduate program are classified as Special Students. They can apply to a program for a later term.

Add a Second Graduate Degree

For current Wheaton graduate students only.

Request to Take Second Degree

Deadlines: 10/1 for spring, 2/15 for fall.

This form cannot be used to add a PhD or PsyD or an MA in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Ministries, Biblical Archaeology, or Biblical Exegesis.

PsyD Request to Take Second Degree

Add an MA in General Theology to your PsyD with 18 more credit hours.

Audit

Auditors can register for a course if the class is not full and if the instructor approves. Credit-students receive priority in registering for classes.

n.b.: Please submit Audit Applications—one per course—to the Office of the Registrar.

Audit - Full-Time Wheaton College Graduate Student

Full-time students receive one free audit per semester. Please see "Auditor's Applications: For students taking other courses for credit" on the Registrar's site.

Audit - Spouse of Full-Time Wheaton College Graduate Student

The spouse of a full-time student may use the free-audit benefit during any term when the student does not use the benefit.

Financial Aid

FAFSA (online form)

Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Required for all grants, scholarships, and loans—except the Provost Award.

The awards at right have additional requirements besides the FAFSA—e.g., an essay. Please see Types of Financial Aid for details.


Graduate Assistantships

In an Academic Department

Please submit your application for a graduate assistantship directly to the appropriate academic department.

PsyD Graduate Assistantship

Responsibilities include assistance in all phases of faculty preparation, assistance and collaboration with faculty research projects, writing grants. About 12 hrs./wk. for 45-50 weeks. Hourly pay. Does not include a tuition benefit. Positions allocated across the four classes.

MA Graduate Assistantship

Responsibilities include clerical work, test grading, classroom- or research assistance. Up to 10 hrs./wk. Hourly pay. Does not include a tuition benefit. Second-year students given preference.

Graduate Resident Assistant or

(GRA)

Great opportunity available to students in any master's program— except MA in Clinical Psychology. Commitment: 20 hrs/wk for 2 yrs.

Benefits include (a) one free course/semester, (b) free housing, (c) taxable stipend, (d) computer system, (e) phone line, (f) utilities, and (g) other part-time Wheaton College employee privileges.
